Time is the ultimate currency. Time is the currency of free will. Time can be used as a gift of compassion, an act of love, a tool of manipulation, an unspoken message, or a weapon. Time is blind. It is given to everyone in equal measure daily and yet it can be taken away at a moments’ notice for no apparent reason.

Time is transparent. You cannot always see how someone spends their money, but if you pay attention, you can usually see how they spend their time. And their use of their time is a direct reflection on their values.

Time is our most fundamental non-renewable resource. Time is paradoxical because it is completely consistent and reliable and yet we can run out of it at any second. Time is completely out of our control and yet we have complete control of what we do with our time Every. Single. Day. Time never ends. We do. Life is precious because it is only a sparkle-size speck on the face of time; and what we do with it is up to us.

As shown in the above newspaper advertisement from March 16, 1947, it has been said that it is not the number of years in your life that count; it is the amount of life in your years.

Wishing for time,

Nikola Rosa
